The PETRO Industrial self-bunded LT Series Tank is a specialised carbon steel tank designed for the storage of sensitive liquids such as emulsions, chemicals, aviation fuel, corrosive liquids, coolants, and more. This particular tank has a capacity of 30,000 liters and is equipped with a recirculation pump transfer system.
PETRO Industrial offers customisation options for their tanks, including sandblasting and painting. In this case, the tank was sandblasted and painted in ColorBond Shale Grey as per the client's requirements.
The tank installation also included the fitting of a suitable pump, valving equipment, pipe work for filling and unloading, and re-circulation pipe work. To ensure the efficient operation of the system, heat trace equipment and thermal lagging were installed around the applicable pipework and valves in the pump bay area. An electrical control box with AS3000 certification, featuring stop/start/Estop and timer systems, was added for the heat trace unit.
Special attention was given to the internal fill/recirculation line to prevent the buildup of solids at the suction point, and low point drains were installed in the pump bay pipe work. Continuous level measurement sensors, an inner tank heating system, and an external display and adjustment unit for the plics® sensors were also installed for easy monitoring and control of the tank.
