PETRO Industrial has recently completed a significant installation of a bulk fuel storage tank and Fuel management system for a business that operate within the Brisbane Airport. (read more HERE)
PETRO Industrial has returned to site to install and integrate the innovative iPETRO Link Gateway system with Vendor Management Inventory (VMI) capabilities.
iPETRO Link Gateway is a communication gauging device that integrates with any management system transmitting all captured data in real time to the iPETRO VMI dashboard, where all data can be viewed and managed (from multiple sights), with powerful reporting capabilities.
This cutting-edge solution is designed to enhance the monitoring and management of underground tanks used for water capture and spill contamination.
Project Overview
The iPETRO Link Gateway was installed to independently monitor fluid levels in the underground tanks at the site. These tanks play a crucial role in environmental protection and operational efficiency:
-
Water Capture: The water capture system is utilised in the wash bay to prevent any runoff from entering the surrounding wetlands. This system ensures that all water used in the wash bay is collected and stored safely.
-
Spill Contamination System: In the fuel bay, the spill contamination system captures all spill fluids, including those from weather runoff. This system is vital in preventing environmental contamination and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the site.
iPETRO Link Gateway Capabilities
The iPETRO Link Gateway provides comprehensive tank monitoring and management functionalities:
-
Fluid Level Monitoring: The system continuously monitors fluid levels in the underground tanks, providing real-time data to the system managers. This ensures that any changes in fluid levels are immediately detected and addressed.
-
Automatic Pump Control: In the event that the containment area reaches full capacity, the iPETRO Link Gateway automatically stops the pump to prevent overflow. This feature is critical in avoiding potential spills and environmental hazards.
-
Alert System: The system includes an alert mechanism that notifies system managers when the containment area is full or if there are any irregularities in the fluid levels. This proactive approach allows for quick responses to any potential issues.
-
Data Management: All data and settings are stored on the VMI portal, providing a centralised platform for system managers to access and analyse information. This feature ensures that historical data is available for review and helps in making
informed decisions.
Environmental and Operational Benefits
The integration of the iPETRO Link Gateway with VMI capabilities at the bulk fuel storage tank site offers several key benefits:
-
Environmental Protection: By effectively capturing and storing water and spill fluids, the system helps in protecting the surrounding wetlands and preventing contamination. This aligns with PETRO Industrial's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
-
Operational Efficiency: The automatic pump control and alert system enhance operational efficiency by minimising downtime and ensuring that the site operates smoothly. This reduces the risk of spills and associated cleanup costs.
-
Data-Driven Decision Making: The VMI portal provides valuable insights into fluid levels and system performance, enabling system managers to make data-drivendecisions. This leads to improved resource utilisation and optimised operations.
Conclusion
The successful installation and integration of the iPETRO Link Gateway with VMI capabilities at the bulk fuel storage tank site underscore PETRO Industrial's expertise in delivering advanced monitoring and management solutions.
This project not only enhances operational efficiency but also reinforces PETRO Industrial's commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.
The iPETRO Link system represents a significant advancement in fluid level monitoring and spill management, setting a new standard for the industry.
